Mark has been a passionate advocate for children through his involvement in primary education for close to forty years. Mark believes that the best outcomes are achieved when school and family work closely together to meet the individual needs of each child. Families today, more than ever, look to school as a safe and trusted place in which their children can grow and flourish. Mark loves the outdoors and spending time with his family, usually enjoying a meal together.
Luciana joined Riverlands Montessori School in 2019 as the Business Manager. She has twenty plus years’ experience working in the finance sector. Since 2006 Luciana has been working in primary and high schools. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Tamara is the friendly face you will see at the front reception desk. She has been working at Riverlands Montessori School since 2009 during which time her children attended the school. Tamara treasures the foundations the Montessori philosophy provided to her children. She enjoys spending time with her family, jewellery making and travelling.
Teacher (Melaleuca Class)
Tess has been working at Riverlands Montessori School in a variety of roles since 1996, when the school was located at Swanleigh. She brings a wealth of experience with Montessori Education in her role as Children’s House Teacher since 2001. Prior to becoming a teacher, she worked as an Education Assistant. She is a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother to her family. Tess is very energetic as she dances 3 times a week and loves annoying her family when she gets onto the drums. Fortunately for them the drum kit is electric.
Education Assistant (Melaleuca Class)
Madhu has been with Riverlands since 2015. The best decision Madhu has made in her life is to embrace the Montessori method of education which began in Sri Lanka. She has a passion and love for working with children and the Montessori pedagogy has helped her fulfil her career ambition. Madhu has worked within the Montessori environment since 2009. Riverlands Montessori School is where she feels she belongs.
Education Assistant (Jacaranda Class)
Jess comes from a business analyst background who has always had a passion and desire to work with children. She is a mother of two and her children started at Riverlands in 2014. Jess started working in our Playgroup for a number of years before moving into an Education Assistant role in Children’s House class. Jess is a kind and caring person who considers the children’s needs in all that she does. She is a craft and arts talented individual who passes this passion onto many. Jess enjoys most spending time with her husband and children.
Teacher (Boronia Class)
Treana joined the Riverlands Montessori School community in 2016 as the Lower Primary and Sports Specialist Teacher. She is inspired by each child’s unique learning journey and enjoys the opportunity of working with them in the three-year cycle. Treana is married with three children, enjoys practicing yoga, travelling and is passionate about the environment.
Teacher (Boronia Class)
Jodie has been a part of the Riverlands Montessori School community since 2014 in various roles and is teaching in Lower Primary. She has been teaching since 2006, shortly after her arrival from the United Kingdom. Jodie feels privileged to be part of the small community feeling that Riverlands provides and that her children attend the school in Lower and Upper Primary. She loves spending time with her family, including her cats and dog and enjoys bush walking, camping and singing.
Education Assistant (Boronia Class)
Wynona has been working at Riverlands Montessori School since 1997 in various roles. She currently works as an education assistant in Lower Primary and a teacher in Children’s House. Wynona enjoys gardening and shares her botany expertise with the staff and students.
Education Assistant (Jacaranda Class)
Debra started her Montessori journey thirty plus years ago on the Isle of Wright in England. She treasures working with children and is especially passionate about Montessori education as her three children are successful graduates of Montessori. Debra has six beautiful grandchildren, loves reading and enjoying the finer things in life.
Teacher (Jarrah Class)
Sam is an innovative, passionate and motivational Upper Primary Teacher who has been with Riverlands since 2016. She brings with her a wealth of experience that she shares with her students from micro-economy fundraising, cooking, up-to-date sustainable practices and a worldly view. Sam fosters mindfulness and this includes teaching social and emotional skills through supporting students during the many stages of a child’s development. She embraces the Montessori ethos through her teaching and home-life and is blessed that her daughter attends the school. Sam enjoys spending time with family, going to the beach and going on outdoor adventures.
Marie shows compassion in all that she does. She truly believes that each child is an individual and has the capabilities to reach their potential. Marie has held many roles within the school since 2007 from intervention programs where she worked closely with children on their learning difficulties, instilling a sustainable outlook through the Waste Wise program to up-skilling the students with one of her personal passions of health and well being through sports. Currently she is working in the Upper Primary Class as an Education Assistant supporting the children in their day to day learning and this includes beyond the classroom. Marie enjoys spending time with her family and dog, camping, water sports and keeping fit and healthy.
Teacher (Indonesian - LOTE)
Farida has been teaching since 1987 and has been teaching Indonesian in Montessori schools since 2007. She is passionate about sharing her Indonesian culture and heritage with the students so that they can broaden and enrich their understanding of our closets neighbour. Farida is married with three adult children and she enjoys travelling and cooking.
Graham has been working at Riverlands Montessori School since 2014 as the grounds person. His role is integral in ensuring the school grounds look beautiful. Graham enjoys tinkering in the shed and riding his bike.
