About this course
This is the time when the child has a huge appetite for knowledge. They want to know the answers to everything and have a great intellectual power that supports that acquisition of knowledge. This is also the time when the child comes into the consciousness of responsibility, which is a precursor to accepting one’s place in this world.
A child at this age will occupy themselves with how and why. They are beginning to become aware of the problems of cause and effect. They are also developing a moral sense. Psychologically, the child of six has changed and now needs a different approach.
The second cycle classroom provides children with a wide range of Montessori materials to help them explore and learn. The equipment is organised carefully into sections (Maths, Language, Geography, History, Science, The Arts) and is within easy reach of the children.
Alongside their individual work, children work in small groups, enhancing co-operation and leadership skills. Social and personal developments are strengthening within the Montessori philosophy. Montessori education takes a holistic view, aimed at developing the child into a well rounded human being.
Our course begins with the first step for generating great user experiences: understanding what people do, think, say, and feel. In this module, you’ll learn how to keep an open mind while learning.
